I don’t know about you guys, but this incredibly beautiful brush set gives one heart palpitations.
It’s a dupe for the Lime Crime Aquarium Brush Set, and what a great dupe it is! It took me so long to built up the courage to use them, as they’re just too beautiful! Wouldn’t you agree?
It comes in a transparent acrylic bag with flecks of liquid hearts to match the inside of the brush handles. The bag is pretty big, and can definitely be used as a brush bag/makeup bag/pencil bag/sanitary towel bag/jewelry bag/phone accessories bag – basically anything!
The brush handles all fits into a small transparent holder/separator which just keeps everything neat and tidy. If you want, you can definitely reuse it after you’ve used the brushes.
The handles have little liquid hearts in them which floats around when you’re using them – how magical!
The ferrules of these brushes as well as the ends of the handles are made of a beautiful dirty pink metal. Personally I think it adds a touch of sophistication.
The bristles are synthetic and incredibly soft! I experienced minimal shedding on the smaller brushes when I washed them, but nothing on the bigger brushes which was rather impressive. Usually sets like these are gimmicky, but I was completely blown away by the quality of these. You have to feel/use it to believe it!
Alrighty, enough rambling, let’s getdown to business.
As you can see this brush has a slightly rounded tip, which I rather quite like. Even though this isn’t a foundation brush, I used it to apply my tinted moisturizer. When used with a light hand it blends really well. It doesn’t blend foundation as well as it does tinted moisturizer, because foundation is a bit thicker so it blends but leaves behind many streaks. I also used this brush to apply blush and powder contour/bronzer and powder highlighter. A great multi-tasking brush for sure!
Smaller than your average powder brush, but works just as great. This brush also has a very slight rounded tip, so it applies face powder in smaller areas (sides of nose, underneath the eyes) really well.
Not as dense as the fan brush in this set (which I love), but it gets the job done well enough and I think it’s a good addition to this set.
This brush is dense, so no splaying about when you’re applying eyebrow pomades. It does a good job for eyebrows but it’s a tiny bit too thick to do winged liner, for my eye shape. It will work much better for eyeliner on someone with a larger eyelid space.
Do you see how perfect and small this brush is for carving out your brows? It gets the job done in no time!
My favorite brush in this entire set. It’s smaller than some of my other blending brushes and firs into my crease perfectly. PERFECTLY. I am obsessed with this brush. It blends beautifully and picks up pigment really well too.
I love that this set contains a lip brush. I like to use lip brushes to apply red or darker color lipsticks, as it helps you achieve a flawless, precise application which (I think) is key when pulling off darker lip colors.
Can you create and entire makeup look with this brush set? Definitely. You can use each brush in whatever way you want. For example, I love using the rounded blush/contour brushes to apply my powder highlighter. So yes, you can 100% create a full face with these 7 brushes.
Makeup is about having fun, so if you decide to use the eyeshadow blending brush for concealer – that’s okay. You don’t have to follow “brush rules” , just have fun with it!
This set is available here. I think this would make an insanely amazing Christmas gift for someone special in your life.. or even yourself. . *cough cough* and while you’re filling your cart, check out the Wholesale Beauty Store for many many other amazing products.
