This is my first blog post for Best Beauty Buys. I’m quite excited, but also a little nervous as it is a new audience I am writing for. Anyways, today I will be reviewing the cutest little mermaid brushes from Best Beauty.
The brushes all come with a little plastic “lid” that opens on the side. It closes quite securely which is nice, as you won’t have to worry about it opening in your handbag/makeup bag. The top of the lid is closed, so your brush won’t be getting dusty or dirty. *HUZZAH!*
Now, I know some might think these brushes are completely gimmicky. Like it’s only meant to look pretty, and not really meant for use. However, I have put it to the test and I’m happy to say, it is usable.
I have used it to apply liquid foundation, and it applied beautifully. I “dot” foundation on my face and blend it with the brush. I hold the brush flat against my face, and blend in downward motions. Holding it flat againts your face is the key. It gave me a flawless finish that wasn’t at all streaky. I was quite surprised, because I don’t think it was meant for foundation, but rather for contour.
I also tried it to apply concealer, but it is a little bit too big to get into the under eye area and I was afraid of poking my eye. I then tried it with cream contour, but because the brush isn’t very thin it sort of blended “out of the lines”. However, with powder contour it works much better. Just a heads up – use a light hand. This brush picks up a lot of product, so just be sure to apply lightly then blend out afterward.
This brush retails for R149 each from the store. They come in a variety of colors. Yes, even rose gold *winks*
And that’s it from me. What would you guys like me to review next? Leave your thoughts/suggestions in the comments below. Thank you reading!
